I just asked Simple Mobile directly about this, and this is what they told me.

Me: "I'm curious about your data plans. Under the "Truly Unlimited" plan option, at what point in data usage does Simple Mobile begin to throttle speed? And to what extent is it throttled?"
Simple Mobile: "The $60 Truly Unlimited Plan offers truly unlimited data without being throttled."

Does that mean that perhaps they've changed what they do since 2012? I usually get the truly unlimited plan and its wonderful. No data throttling at all. However the one time I did get throttled was the time I bought the plan with 10gig of data. It throttled right as soon as i went over 10gig. To reassure you. That's the only time I ever had that problem and it was my own stupidity. Trust me when they throttle you. You will know because your data will crawl. However if you stay with in your means you will be fine and not get throttled. Unless you use ungodly amounts of data.. Then yeah you might get throttled. So far this company is great on so many different avenues. Just because information is available somewhere on the internet doesn't mean they can lie about their services. What does your comment about band have to do with anything? I already established my phone supports 4G, I thought it was pretty clear. The blog post was about lying, cheating, rotten service provider.

It is true that it pays to always do your own research, and that the scattered pieces of information are available on the internet, which indicate what _really_ do they offer. But a lot of people don't do research, and take the promises they see on front page for a face value.

So at least I warned some of them.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14203877421874433567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2626335082143766267.post-8421810371737468092012-12-19T13:20:53.416-08:002012-12-19T13:20:53.416-08:00While I feel your pain, if you would have done you...While I feel your pain, if you would have done your research, you would have known ahead of time that there truly isn't any 'unlimited' in the pure sense. With MVNOs, such as Simple MObile, it's even more the case. 2GB is right where they will start to throttle you, or very likely cut you off.

Since Simple Mobile is using T-Mobile's funky data network with rogue 1700 frequency band, that's why they want the correct devices being used. Only recently are they starting to roll out '4G' (really, HSPA+) on the 1900 frequency band, in order to be able to support the iPhone users they will capture by selling the device in 2013.

Howardforums.com may be a useful resource for you on this topic and other wireless related issues.pepe vaccarrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02315796419083830803noreply@blogger.com
